I have collected the H1 B visa experiences published in this blog by searching various websites and by spending lot of time. Since I didn’t find some of their mail id’s there I couldn’t take permission from all the people whose H1b visa experiences I have posted here in this blog. Anyhow because their intention was also to share their experience with others so i had posted without their permission, but i took acceptance from few of them. I thought of posting both success and failure experiences of H1B visa stamping. If you would like to share your experience too, please send it to satyadon@gmail.com.

Hi All,

This forum is very informative and helping people in getting the US Visa. I would like to share my experience with Mumbai Counslate so it can be helpfull for every one who is going for visa stamping.

I had my H1B stamping in Mumbai counslate last week. The questions that was asked by the VO are below.

ME: Good morning.
VO: Good Morning, How are you ding.
ME: Iam doind alright, How about you.
VO: Good, wHAT DO YOU DO?
ME: I am a software engineer ...............
VO: Refering to DS 156 OR 157? Why all the previous employment is blank.
ME: I started my carrier with the current company and i was working in the same company from past 3+ years.
VO: What is US Company?
ME: XXXXXX
VO: What is your work in that company?
ME: Explained about my project and my role in that project.

ME: XXXXX
VO: What does your US Company do?
ME: Cunsulting Business and provide solutions and develop new applications on XXX Technologies.......
VO: What is your pay in India?

VO: What is your salary in U.S?
ME: XXXXXX Thousand per year.
VO: XXXXXX Thousand per year IS 10 Thousand low.
ME: I will be having an apraisal with in 3 months.
VO: Still you need to go call DOL and complain about this.
He gave me the Business card of DOL and ORIGINAL I797 FORM.
ME: What sould i do now?
VO: I am issuing the visa.
ME: Thanks.

Summary:

They did not ask me any document.

Suggestions:

Be confident and bold while you are attending the Interview. Prepare some thing about your project. Try giving straight answers and do not give more inputs than they need. Do not show any document untill they ask you to show some document. Additional inputs than required makes them ask more questions.

Make sure you have the offer letter from your employer with greaterthan or equal to 60,000 US Dolars.

I carried all the documents with me including the US Company IT Returns, Photos and project reffering documents. But i did not show any of them untill they ask me because, I know people who gave some additional information ended up with wieard queries.

This is only for Mumbai counslate. All the best for people who are going to attend the visa interview.

Thanks,
Srikanth.
